A playful, hands-on exploration of nature‑inspired printmaking.

This lively workshop invites students to dive into the colorful world of Gelli printing using found botanicals. Working with ferns, leaves, flowers, branches, and other natural ephemera, participants will experiment with layering, texture, and color to create expressive prints that celebrate the beauty of the natural world.

Using acrylic paints, printmaking tools, and flexible Gelli plates, students will learn how to build dynamic compositions, pull multiple variations, and explore the delightful unpredictability of monotype printing. Along the way, we’ll discuss color choices, mark‑making, and how to use plant materials to achieve crisp silhouettes, soft veils, and rich organic patterns.

A dynamic, hands‑on workshop that blends the magic of sunlight printing with the depth and luminosity of encaustic painting.

Experience the excitement of creating expressive cyanotype prints and transforming them with molten beeswax. This workshop introduces the ancient, playful cyanotype process and invites participants to explore natural toners, watercolor, and wax to build rich layers of depth and detail.

Using the cyanotypes created in the morning, the afternoon session shifts into encaustic. Participants learn to fuse their botanical prints into luminous layers of beeswax, adding texture, translucency, and incredible tactile dimension.

This workshop offers a welcoming entry point into the world of encaustic art through the creation of charming, 3D tiny houses. Participants will learn how to work comfortably with encaustic collage techniques, exploring how wax, texture, and layered materials come together to form expressive sculptural pieces.

This workshop is perfect for anyone who has been curious about encaustic but unsure where to begin. No experience is necessary—just a desire to learn something new and enjoy the creative

All materials are included, and each participant will complete one unique tiny house. Students are encouraged (but not required) to bring personal ephemera, small objects, or meaningful collage materials to incorporate into their piece.

Intro to Encaustic Painting

The word encaustic comes from the ancient Greek enkaustikos, meaning to burn in; a reference to the process of painting with melted beeswax and heat. This introductory workshop offers a rich, hands‑on overview of this exciting and timeless medium, perfect for encaustic‑curious beginners.

This workshop covers a brief history of equipment needed, setting up your work-space, mixing colors, adding media and of course safety. Additional techniques will include collage, image transfer and combining oil with wax. Everything you need to start creating with encaustic. Hands-on work time will enable participants to create up to three panels.

Are materials provided?

​All materials are included!  Bring a smock, notebook and water bottle for your own hydration!

How many students per workshop?

​Minimum of 4 students to run a class. Bring friends!

What happens in the event of a cancellation?

Cancellations seven days prior to the workshop will grant your refund minus $50 which you can apply towards a future workshop date. No refunds within seven days of the workshop date.

Is there an age restriction for workshops?

Students must be 18+ years old or accompanied by an adult.

Where do workshops take place?

All workshops are offered in my Pennsville, New Jersey studio, unless otherwise noted. 

What are your qualifications?

I am a certified K–12 art educator, Art Education professor and an R&F Handmade Paint instructor. With a diverse background spanning graphic design, fine art, and art education, I bring a unique blend of technical skill, creative insight, and pedagogical expertise to every class.

What should I expect?

Each workshop is rooted in a hands‑on, process‑driven, and experiment‑forward approach. Students learn by doing—layering, scraping, fusing, testing, and discovering the expressive possibilities of molten beeswax. Every class encourages curiosity, play, and personal voice.
